Public Holiday Relief Cleanup @ Cowell & Main Beach

Conduct a public beach cleanup at Cowell & Main Beach!

After the holidays, our beaches are in need of some TLC! Conduct a public beach cleanup at Cowell & Main Beach after the 4th of July weekend! Help keep our beaches clean and healthy, and prevent marine debris from impacting our local ecosystems!

NOTE: Monday, July 5th is when the holiday is observed, so our holiday relief cleanups will take place on Tuesday, July 6th this year.

There will be approximately 15 participants at this event. Registration is required (You will be provided with a list of registrants before the event). Covid safety protocols will be followed. Participants are asked to use the SOS Marine Tally app and bring their own supplies, though SOS will provide disposable supplies including face masks, gloves, trash bags, etc.

Please be sure to:

1. 1. 1. Follow and enforce our Social Distancing Cleanups Guidelines in addition to our normal safety precautions.
      2. Ensure that all participants (including yourself) complete a City of Santa Cruz approved waiver and submit to Krista after the cleanup.
      3. Encourage participants to record data by using the free Save Our Shores Marine Tally App (Apple, Google) or by using a data card.
      4. Complete an Event Report Back form and send to Krista (krista@saveourshores.org).
      5. Record your hours.
